But the ball popped out, jarred loose by Derek Campbell, and Cale Miller was there to scoop the ball up before it hit the ground, winning the game 9-7.
The win gave the Indians (9-0) the Silver Trophy (emblematic of having beaten Junction City), and an undefeated district championship. Although MHS beat Blue Valley and Emporia in similar last-play fashion earlier in the season, this was different.
