Fort Riley officials announced Wednesday afternoon that a planned flyover of downtown Manhattan that was to take place Thursday has been called off.

Officials announced the flyover, which was to involve four helicopters, last week. It was to be conducted as a rehearsal for a similar helicopter flyover during the upcoming Veterans Day parade.

The Veterans Day parade flyover will still be held, but the rehearsal was scrubbed. Post officials cited other training related activities in cancelling the rehearsal, which was to have taken place around 1 p.m. Thursday.
