I am, by no means, a prude, but I have seen a tendency on this forum that bothers me a little.  Even the simplest comment is turned, by some folks, into some sort of a sexual innuendo.  I don't mind some fun, but, I think it has reached the point that it detracts from some serious points that are made here.  I think that those of us who post here would like to think that we make a bit of difference...playing prurient word games is not the way to be taken seriously...Reminds me of middle school.......

Anyone here about a shooting in Clay Center?  Heard the schools in Riley were asked to lockdown.

That Sebelius is in as Labor Secretary.  See?  Sometimes it's good to have a Kansan living near D.C.

Do you know which special interest gave more money to the Obama campaign than any other?

If you guessed "trial lawyers" -- well, okay, that's too easy. But can you guess which special interest came in second?

Labor unions? Nope. The Green Lobby? Nope. AARP? Wrong, again. NEA? Nyet.

Give up? Okay, here's the answer: Wall Street.

That's right. According to CNNMoney.com, Wall Street securities and investment firms gave over $35 million to Democratic candidates this election cycle. And the amount they gave to the Obama campaign was nearly five times the amount they gave to McCain.

If you've been wondering why the financial industry is in meltdown -- and taking your 401(k) or investment portfolio down with it -- now you know.

Why should WalMart be held accountable for the tragic death of an employee who was trampled to death by crazed shoppers?  The shoppers are to blame;  they were out of control, hostile, and responsible for the death of that man.  WalMart can't be held accountable for the bad judgment, bad behavior, and tragedy in a mob mentality situation.

Dennis Miller asked tonight, "Do I really want to go to WalMart and die at 5:30 this morning?" in part of his response on the issue...people are responsible for where they are and what they do.  If peple want to be part of a situation like that, they are accountable for its outcome.  WalMart couldn't have imagined that the mob would break down its doors in a frenzy.

It's certainly not worth a life to shop.  But those who were part of that crowd are responsible, the store isn't.

Now, watch the lawsuits fly.

CIRCLING THE WAGONS, AGAIN    The Vatican and many others continue to fight a losing battle against the move to give equal civil rights to gays and lesbians. In the most recent example, the Vatican says it opposes a proposed United Nations resolution to decriminalize homosexuality. All of this is going to seem preposterous 50 or 100 years from now, when such discriminatory practices will have, I hope, fallen by the wayside. (copied from an  enewspaper site)

KSU Sports Forums
Snyder on 810 said that Urban Meyer visited K-State and learned our offense in the 1990s.  Apparently, he is running a massaged version of it.  Snyder said if you changed the uniforms of K-State in the mid 1990s to Florida you would have a hard time telling the difference.

My hopes for next year, tempered with a dash of reality.  5 or 6 wins, BUT with a defense that is not giving up 500yds a game, hopefully a good DC can get us into the top 30-40 in the country there.  I think our loses will be much closer, around 10-15 a game instead of the blow outs we endured this year.  Add that up and it equals what all KSU fans want: improvement with signs that we are back in the right direction, getting better and better.  Oh and about scheduling.  Wasn't it Prince that bought out the game with that powerhouse team Fresno?  Snyder tried to get series with Notre Dame and others around 2000 but they wanted 2-3 home games for each one here. Why would anyone agree to that?
