Lee School damaged
Lauren Epps lepps@themercury.com

Lee Elementary school sustained damage from last night's storm with broken windows and damage to its roof.

Coordinator of communications and public relations Michele Jones said Lee was the only school to sustain damage during the storm.

"Some windows were broken out along with damage to the window frames," Jones said. There is also debris on the playground, she said.

"Our architect was up at the school," assessing damages, Jones added. No dollar amount has been estimated for the damage at Lee school so far. Maintenance staff is working to put up plywood over the windows as a temporary solution until a more permanent solution is available.

"We are sending students home from the Job Corps," on Eureka Drive, Jones said, adding that the district is also unsure as to whether they would hold summer school tommorrow.
