Texas Tech's women won the championship for the first time of the Big 12's existence and became only the third different team (Colorado and K-State) to take home the championship in 13 years. Oklahoma State won the men's championship giving the Cowboys their first conference title and snapping a 12-year conference win streak by Colorado.

"Our women ran tough and when you run like that you give yourself a great opportunity to be successful," said head coach Michael Smith. "It wasn't any one person effort it was a collect team performance that allowed us to capture our goal of finishing in the top half of the conference."
