KSU's Ramos named Big 12 women's cross country Runner of the Week

On Tuesday the Big 12 Conference honored Kansas State sophomore Beverly Ramos as the Big 12 women's cross country Runner of the Week for her first place finish at the Woody Greeno Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., on Sep. 15. This is Ramos' first season as a Wildcat after transferring from the Universidad de Puerto Rico.

She earned the victory in Lincoln by clocking in a 6K time of 21:21.85, which was good for eighth-best in school history. Her efforts helped the women's team finish second place in a field of 24 teams. The Woody Greeno Invitational was the second meet that Ramos placed first in this season. Her first victory of the season came at the K-State/KU Dual on Sep. 7 in Manhattan.
