Two former Wildcats will run in the men's 800 meters as Jason Collett hopes to ride the momentum of a strong senior season into Eugene. He will be in the field with 2008 Olympian Christian Smith, who became K-State's latest Olympian last summer.
Scott Sellers comes into the USA Championships fresh off his third NCAA title after winning the high jump two weeks ago and completing the indoor and outdoor sweep of the event. The final former Wildcat in action will be sprinter Mike Myer as he runs in the men's 100 and 200 meters. Myer reached the semifinals of the 100 meters at the NCAA Championship recently and tied the school record in the 200 meters during the NCAA Midwest Regional.
A pair of future Wildcats will be in action as well. High jumper Erik Kynard and mid-distance runner Sara Stoakes both signed National Letters of Intent to compete at K-State and begin their summers at the national championship meet.
Stoakes will run in the junior 800 meters. As a senior in high school, Stoakes won four individual events at the Iowa Class A State Championship to single-handedly earn her school the team state title.
