Wildcat rowers earn recognition
Seven Kansas State rowers were listed as CRCA National Scholar Athletes for the 2008 season as announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. Senior Bjai Rice led the Wildcats honorees after earning the accolade for the third consecutive year.
Rice, who was recently named to the 2008 All-Region Second Team by the CRCA, was nominated with a 3.835 grade point average in nutritional science. The Wildcats listed four additional student-athletes as Scholars Athletes for the second-consecutive year. Heather Hoffman (3.969, communication sciences and disorders), Michael Knoll (3.907, sociology), Nicole Vogt (3.797, architectural engineering) and Elizabeth Walter (3.673, nutrition and exercise science) all earned the honor for the second time.
First-time honorees include Michelle Higgins (3.95, nutritional science) and Whitney Revell (3.581, animal science).
