Steve Fritz to coach USA Track

Kansas State assistant track and field coach Steve Fritz will wear red, white and blue this summer as an assistant coach for USA Track and Field at the IAAF World Championships in Berlin. Fritz was announced as an assistant coach for the men's national team coaching the jumps at the championship August 15-23.

Fritz has seen a long line of successes as a coach at K-State. In his 16 years on staff, Fritz has coached 12 student-athletes to a total of 22 Big 12 Conference titles. Every year at least one of his athletes has qualified for nationals. This season three Wildcats coached by Fritz competed at the NCAA Championship meet in a total of four events.

Athletes coached by Fritz have been successful at every level competing at the collegiate, national and international levels. He has had his own success competing as well finishing fourth in the 1996 Olympic Games decathlon and the 1997 World Championships.
